The news broke today that John Huehnergard, former AOS President (2017–18), will be awarded the prestigious Edward Ullendorff Medal, the British Academy’s recognition of scholarly distinctions and achievements in the field of Semitic Languages and Ethiopian Studies, at a ceremony on September 25, 2018. The AOS extends its heartfelt congratulations!

New AOS Honorary Member
At its Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, March 2018, the membership unanimously elected Etan Kohlberg, Professor Emeritus at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a leading authority on Shii Islam, as AOS Honorary Member. We have the good fortune of anticipating his attending and presenting at the 229th Meeting in Chicago (March 15-18, 2019).
